It got cold!

Weather's really drawing in now, and the woods are just a bit too wet to ride the mountain bike - difficult to ride and you'll really damage trails riding them now. Best to wait til it gets a bit drier, or freezes. Instead, I've been going out on the BMX to Meersbrook and Millhouses, and the road bike into the Peaks.

Half Term: We had a great time working with folks in Greenhill, Parson Cross and Meersbrook over the school holidays, and looking forward to starting up BMX clubs again in the new year.
It's just too wet and cold at the minute to run the club, as we'd probably have to cancel it.
BUT, you can still ride your bike! Gloves and a beanie hat under your helmet will go a long way.

Sign up to our mailing list at the bottom of the site, if you haven't already.

While it's raining, time to watch some videos of people riding, and to sort your own bike out with a service.

I am really sorry to say that, due to staffing problems, we will not be able to run Last Saturday Club this weekend. We will be running the October LSC as the last one of the year, and also will be putting on events in half term.
Sorry to do this to you, we hope it won't happen again.

BMX - Chapeltown and a video:

We were down in Chapeltown at the weekend, working with loads of kids running a best trick and time trial competition at Charlton Brook. Thanks to the Friend of Charlton Brook for asking us to come along, and to all the riders who got involved.
We saw some amazing skills and tricks, reminding me of a video I saw on the tube last week:

Beautifully smooth natural looking riding, and ridiculously good tricks. And one of the best shot bmx videos I've seen in a long time. Check it out! Anyone out there got their own videos?

Summer Busy-ness!

We've been having a lot of fun on bikes already this summer, but not all of it in the Steel City. We've been to Festivals such as Cliffhanger and Peace in the Park. We've been working with the CTC and Sheffield Council Woodlands team doing mountainbike skills sessions. And we've been to various events round the country.

We followed Nigel Mansell on his recent charity ride around the UK- more details here
We took our portable North Shore course, including the see-saw above, to Cardiff, Chester and Blackpool. We had a really good day, working with different children from different cities was a pleasure. We were all very tired after long days, but it was a truly wonderful experience.

North Shore in New Zealand, Singletrack in South Yorks

Great little Video from PinkBike's Video of the Day. Full suspension MTBs on some singletrack and North Shore. Nice tunes, great landscape and some sweet riding. Enjoy.

And, a great video put up by Singletrack magazine of Robbie Rickman riding down Stanage Edge on a steel hardtail made by local bike company Cotic.
