Feb Half term MTB ride


It's winter, but we don't stop riding. We're trying to organise a mountainbike ride for some riders this winter.
We're running it as an advanced beginners ride. You must have ridden off-road before, conditions may be wet, or very cold, or both. We are aiming it at 11 - 13year olds, but email anyway if you're interested.

ReCycle Bikes are holding our first Bike Jumble Sale.

Saturday 13th of February 2010 at the Heeley Institute on Gleadless Road, S2 3AE. Open from 9am until 12.30am.

Stalls - £6 inside, £3 outside (outdoor stall holders please bring your own tables, max size 4’ wide, Open for stallholders from 7.30am).

Entry - £1 (£5 before 9am)

Winter rides:



Just because it's winter, don't stop riding! We're trying to organise a Mountain Bike ride for some riders this winter, maybe in the woods, maybe in Peak. We will have to balance any group we take out in terms of ability and age. So, if you want to come along, let us know - email ed - bmx@heeleydevtrust.com

Summer's over,
Winter's nearly here.



We had a great time in Half Term, we took our 'Not Sure North Shore' Course to the Manor and Meersbrook Park and had loads of kids come and give it a go. Both see saws were out, and proved very popular, kids as young as 4 giving it a go.

At Last Saturday Club, we found the bowl in bad condition, there were too many leaves and a pool of water, so we stuck to the courts. We had two groups, doing classic games like 'Glass Wall', 'Sumo' and 'Slow Race' as well as some new skills - trackstanding in a box and hopping the front wheel. We also had a group led by Karlos, passing on some of his tricks. Endo to wheelie in one move, riding backwards and bunny-hops. Silas and Charlie did really well.

We're going to stop the LSC in Meersbrook park for a couple of months, as the bowl and courts were quite slippy this month.We'll be back next year for sure.

Last Saturday Club - October



Next one is on Sat 31st October in Meersbrook Park 1pm til 3pm, near the skate bowl here.
Come along, we'll be playing games on the courts, trying to drop in the bowl, and possibly have a bit of our North Shore course to have a go on.
